Will Smith reveals that Floyd Mayweather called him for 10 days in a row after the slap at the last Oscar award show in 2022. Besides Floyd, there were also other celebrities that reached out to Will to check up on him and find out if he was ok.
Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in the Oscars award show after the comedian made fun of Jada, referring to her as G.I. Joe because of her bald head. The actress had her head shaved off because she had alopecia. Will reacted to the joke about his wife by slapping Chris Rock on stage.
The slap earned Will a ban from Oscars award show for the next 10 years, and although he had apologized to Chris and stating his action were inexcusable, Chris is still having a difficult time accepting the situation.
After the slap, Floyd Mayweather reportedly reached out and called Will for 10 days in a row to show his support, check up on him and to make sure he was ok. Will spoke about the call during a private screening for his new movie Emancipation.
He said ” Floyd and I met each other, we’ve seen each other around, but we weren’t like friends”. ”And the day after the Oscars, for 10 days, he would call me everyday, and he would say ”Hey, you know you the champ right? You good? Yu know you the champ, right? I want you to hear my voice say it” Will said.
Floyd also conformed the comments made by Will Smith that he called for 10 days straight.
