Most people would argue it is down to the fact that they are less military than the Russia, that they don’t have sophisticated weaponry like their invader. Ukraine is not fighting back not because they are helpless as many factions think, but it is their own way of fighting to the war. The defensive system is a strategy for them.
Russia could have easily bombed Ukraine to smithereens, but they are aware that their attempt will fail. Ukraine still boast of anti-aircraft batteries capable of shooting down the bombs in the air since Russia would have to fly bombers over Ukrainian anti-aircraft batteries.
Ukraine is not a weak country as suggested on paper.
While it is justifiable to say they are short of weapons, yet, they are still not in dire need of military arms and other supplies since Ukraine’s western border with Poland and other Nato countries is still not in Russian hands (the Russian invasion has come from the three other sides – north, south and east), so there is still a corridor for supplies to come in. Hence, Ukraine choose not to engage in the way of Russia.
Going in the way of Russia only means Russia has successfully instigated them to do what they want Ukraine to do, and this will be the biggest defeat to Ukraine. Since that would mean they go contrary against their winning formula.While many people across the globe ponders on why Ukraine has not done more to attack the Russian convoy as it is a sitting duck for drone and airstrikes.
Some people come to terms that Ukraine may be running out of armed drones and its small outnumbered air force may be wary of being shot down by Russian air defence batteries.Ukrainians may well be safeguarding what resources they do have in readiness to counter-attack when the Russians get closer to Kyiv, and catch Russians when they are coldest and win the war once and for all. Perhaps a kind of strangle strategy!
