Friends actress Jennifer Aniston has posted a touching tribute to her former colleague Gunnar Mortensen, who died in a tragic motorcycle accident on July 4.
Mortensen worked as a camera assistant on the Apply TV+ series The Morning Show, which stars Aniston alongside Reese Witherspoon.
Aniston shared a post to her Instagram Stories, writing: “This past week we suddenly and tragically lost Gunnar Mortensen. One of the bright lights on our @themorningshow set. As a camera assistant, he was so skilled and dedicated to his job.”
Aniston continued: “In memory of Gunnar, a page has been set up to help raise funds for his wife, Keely, and his 2-year-old son, Lars during this difficult time. We are going to miss you Gunnar 💔.”
The GoFundMe page, which is organized by IGC Local 600, reads: “In memory of Gunnar, Local 600 has set up this GoFundMe page to help raise funds for his family at this difficult time. We encourage you to donate if you can.”
As of this time of writing, the page has raised $138,150 so far, with donations continuing to pour in. The $20,000 goal has already been smashed.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office said that Mortensen died on Monday after the motorcycle crash between Hemet and Mountain Center on Southern California State Route 74. The accident is still under investigation, but no other vehicles were involved.
According to IMDB, Mortensen amassed 81 credits as a camera assistant. Some of the projects he worked on included Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, Amazon’s Transparent, The Muppets, and The Morning Show.
