Since coming to the limelight after her role in the HBO series Game of Thrones, Emilia has gone on to star in several other movies. Since the huge success of the series Game of Thrones, all of the cast members have experienced stardom, with many of them coming forward to explain what it felt like filming and being a part of the successful show. With the movie set in medieval times, it is normal for some scenes to feel out of place and disturbing to viewers.
After the show, Emilia has gone on to describe what it was like being a part of the show, and how she felt about the scenes. Reports have shown that Emilia herself describes some of the scenes as disturbing and not easy to film since she was so young, and it was her big breakout role.
Truthfully, some of the scenes in Game of Thrones were disturbing, however the most disturbing ones for Emilia were the scenes involving the early days of her marriage to Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa). Most of the scenes showed her being raped by her husband as she was basically given to him as a gift by her brother.
According to Emilia, the scene was disturbing for her to film as it was disturbing for viewers because it portrayed her vulnerability and helplessness. It may have been shot in medieval times, but we are still not far from the sexual violence portrayed against women in that scene. Fortunately, Emilia Clarke said in her interview that Jason Momoa took care of her during filming of those scenes and was pretty much as uncomfortable as she was.
