The “democracies” of the world, led by the US are (correctly) outraged at the land invasion by foreign troops and the missile strikes killing women and children. Exactly the same situation as happened in Gaza less than a year ago.
Where was the outrage? Apart from the Irish Foreign Affairs Minister, Simon Coveney tearing into the Israel barbarity the whole western world was silent, other than to mutter something about ‘Israel has the right to defend itself’ and ‘Hamas is the cause of the misery of the Palestinian people’ (not persecution, occupation and apartheid- you will understand).
Israel feels free to launch rockets into Syria and Lebanon any time it feels like it and does so frequently. The reward for ‘keeping peace’ and ‘fighting terrorism’ in the ‘Middle East’ is the sum of $10,000,000 per DAY given by the USA to the israel Armed Forces in the form of military hardware, i.e. bombs and missiles. These missiles find their way into the Gaza and elsewhere killing innocents.
The good thing is that Israel’s barbarity and apartheid policy is now being exposed on a daily basis world wide and no amount of hasbara/propaganda can cover up slaughter of women and children. Disgusting comments from disgusting people like Naftali Bennet about killing Arabs must be condemned immediately by western governments in future rather than smirky silence.
The difference in the West’s own standard is appalling. On the one hand they are decrying the mass murder of innocents in Ukraine whilst on the other hand they are supplying the very weapons to mass murder people in Gaza. And there is no way of getting away from the truth of it. The West must now stop funding Israel, if it requires sanctions then so be it.
