Dressed in a red hoodie marked with ‘Anti-Slavery Collective, the Princess took to Instagram along with Ms. de Boinville to discuss an upcoming launch on their social media to introduce their followers to key figures tackling modern slavery.
Eugenie said: “Hi everyone, today we are very excited to be kicking off the countdown to Anti-Slavery Day.”
Ms. de Boinville then said: “Anti-Slavery Day provides everyone with an opportunity to raise awareness about human trafficking and modern slavery, and to shine a light on the incredible people in this movement who are fighting to end modern slavery in all its forms.”
With each taking it in turn to speak, the rest of the short video continues: “Today and up until October 18 we are going to be introducing you to a group of individuals whose voices, work and advocacy we admire.
“We’ve asked them to share who they are, why fighting against modern slavery is important to them and how you can get involved in the movement. Keep an eye out for each one of them on our Instagram, we hope you feel as inspired by them as we do.”
Anti-Slavery Day will take place on October 18 2022.
Earlier this year, Princess Eugenie launched the first episode of her weekly podcast for the Anti-Slavery Collective, Floodlight.
Guests on her show so far have included Dame Emma Thompson and Caroline Haughey QC, who prosecuted the largest modern slavery trial case in the UK’s history.
Dame Emma discussed her experiences of working with victims of sex trafficking on the show.
