The Lekki massacre incident of 2020 has not been forgotten as citizens and youths remember the sad incident every year since it happened. This is the second anniversary of the incident, and youths of Nigeria have staged a memorial walk with a dummy coffin as they march to Lekki tollgate.
While the march is peaceful, the hearts of citizens are filled with pain as they do what they can to show how hurt they are. The dummy coffin stands to signify the brave comrades and fellow youths lost in the Lekki massacre and to show that we have never truly forgotten.
The protesters were led by famous Nigerian artiste Falz, and Nigerian comedian, Mr. Macaroni. Although the march and peace walk was a peaceful one, protesters are reported to have been assaulted by the police and sprayed with tear gas.
