Late Queen’s Funeral: Karl Stefanovic’s One-Word Verdict On Meghan Markle

Today Show host Karl Stefanovic couldn’t resist saying goodbye to his least favorite member of the royal family in the wake of the Queen’s funeral on Monday.

He made the unwarranted suggestion that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, wasn’t actually crying when she was pictured wiping a tear during the somber service.

Stefanovic made his verdict on Meghan’s public display of emotion clear with just one word – “apparently” – and it did not go unnoticed by his co-anchor Allison Langdon.

Stefanovic noted how various photos of the funeral were open to interpretation, especially regarding whether certain members of the royal family were crying.

He suggested that pictures of Meghan wiping tears may have been misleading.

‘There have been many photos and interpretations of photos and reading into photos [meanings] that may or may not be true,” he said.

“There’s a couple of Meghan, with a tear down her face—apparently—and even one from Princess Charlotte that everyone said she cried, and we don’t know if it was true or not.”

As Stefanovic questioned Meghan’s tearful display with the word “apparently,” Langdon smiled nervously and gave him a knowing look.

Meghan wept as she watched Queen Elizabeth II’s casket being carried from Westminster Abbey today after a remarkable funeral attended by the great and good from around the world.

The Duchess of Sussex dabbed her cheek during the emotional moment as she stood next to Camilla, the Queen Consort, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
