Kevin Spacey says he waited till he was 58 to come out as gay because his father was 'white supremacist neo-Nazi

Anyone who is a fan of Hollywood comedy or thrillers must have seen Kevin Spacey in one of them.

Known for some of his movies including Horrible Bosses or American Beauty, Kevin Spacey has received some level of recognition that has nothing to do with his movies or fame as an actor.

The recent issues surrounding his sexuality and morality had drawn the public’s attention to his lifestyle.

Recently, Kevin is attending a court hearing for claims of sexual advances by Anthony Rapp, and this has further increased the knowledge on his recent coming out as gay.

Although there has been claims that he only came out because of the accusation leveled against him by Anthony and others when they were mostly teenagers, Kevin has come forward with reasons why he had kept his s3xuality for so long.

According to Kevin, he never denied his s3xualitu as gay, he simply was private about it, and that was because of his father’s belief when he was younger.

He went further to describe his father as a white supremacist neo-Nazi. He further explained that his father used to yell at him when he started showing interest in theatre, as he had the idea that Kevin might be gay.

Turns out his father was right in his assumptions, as Kevin was gay and waited until he was 58 before he publicly came out as gay.

He also stated that another reason he delayed his coming out was because he wanted to be known as an actor and not because he was gay.

This comment would lead to him getting backlashed by the LGBTQ community of which he had to apologize afterwards.

On how his upbringing affected him, Kevin stated that his father was unemployed and a failed writer, and as such he was always at home.

Being a homophobic and white supremacist man, Kevin stated it meant he and his siblings would have to sit down for hours and listen to their father’s beliefs and ideas.

”I grew up in a complicated family dynamic” Kevin said, and it greatly influenced his adult life and decisions he had to make in the long run.

With the case and accusations against him still in court, Kevin had denied the accusations levelled against him by Anthony Rudd.
