Game of Thrones is known for its graphic scenes, nudity, violence, and of course, sex scenes. It was so full of sex scenes that almost all the characters were involved indirectly or directly in one sex scene or the other. From the first season to the last, the series was known for explicit graphic violence, nudity and plenty of sex scenes.
While some sex scenes did not receive much attention from the public, some managed to stand out and it had viewers wondering if they were real or not. Some notable sex scenes that ended up being more famous than others were scenes involving Daenerys and Khal Drogo her husband, and scenes involving Daenerys and Jon snow.
The scenes appeared so real and fans often wondered if they were in fact real or not. From what we know and have gathered, the sex scenes in Game of Thrones were not real. Some of the stars had body doubles step in during the steamy scenes, but Emilia Clarke is said to have done all her nude and sex scenes herself even though the offer of having a body double was on the table.
Although the sex scenes were uncomfortable to film, Emilia said in interviews that it got easier as the season progressed. She was helped by co-star Jason Momoa to overcome the feeling of discomfort during the filming of those scenes as he was a more experienced actor than she was. In time, she learned not to worry too much about the nude or sex scenes as depicted in season 6 where she emerges fully naked after burning the Khals.
Although the sex scenes seemed very real, it has been confirmed that they were not real. Nonetheless, Emilia Clarke will be forever remembered for her beautiful role and performance in the all time favourite series Game of Thrones.
