An expert lip reader has
revealed Prince William’s kind gesture to Prince Harry at Queen Elizabeth II’s
committal service after her funeral.
As the brothers took their
seats in St George’s Chapel at Windsor, Prince Harry asked his brother:
“Shall we go through first?”.
Lip reader Jacqui Press told
the Daily Mail the heir to the throne, who was standing at the entrance to the
front pew, nodded and replied “yes” to his younger brother.
The Prince of Wales then said
to his wife Kate Middleton: “Let them go through first”.
Kate said “OK” as
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle walked past her, Prince George and Princess
Charlotte to take their seats.
Prince Harry, who lives in
California, also shared a touching moment with seven-year-old Charlotte later
in the service, giving her a reassuring smile as the two sat side-by-side.
As the service came to an end
the royal family stood as the coffin of the UK’s longest-reigning monarch was
lowered into the royal vault.
King Charles III who openly
cried throughout the day, appeared deeply moved watching the oak coffin as it
was lowered.
