Kate Middleton and Prince William visited the RNLI Holyhead Lifeboat Station in Anglesey, northwest Wales today – their first visit to the country since they were made Prince and Princess of Wales.

For the occasion, Kate wore a bright red coat, almost in honour of Wales and its national flag.

Kate’s coat is from the British brand LK Bennett and is the Spencer Red Recycled Wool Blend Snaffle-Detail Coat.

Some royal fans suggest the coat colour and name is a nod to the former Princess of Wales, Princess Diana.

She also wore red during her first official visit to Wales when she became the Princess of Wales back in 1981.

Kate’s coat, on the other hand, is described as a “statement with heritage-inspired snaffle detail”.

The official website description reads: “The Spencer coat sits in our LKB Conscious collection.

“Crafted from a luxurious red recycled wool blend fabric by Manteco – the leading textile company for sustainability and high-end fabrics – it’s a single-breasted style with gold dome buttons, an oversized collar, a tailored silhouette and front patch pockets finished with gold snaffle detail. Wear it over tailored trousers and a knit or your favourite winter dresses.”

Priced at £599, it is available online in all sizes.

Underneath the coat, she wore a black round neck top which was tucked into a pair of high-waisted wide-leg trousers. She carried a small black handbag with her, which is from the brand Grace Han.

It is the Black Love Letter Small Top Handle Bag and has been in her wardrobe for a few years.

Made from 100 percent calfskin leather, it is priced at £2,050 and “makes a perfect companion with its elegance and classic shape”.

“Its distinctive envelope closure is an ode to Love Letters of the past present and future,” Grace Han explained.
