Prince
William and Kate Middleton have been together for almost 20
years, having grown together from university students to a married couple with
three children.
William and Kate met in their
first year at the University of St Andrews and were photographed together for
the first time on a ski holiday in Klosters, Switzerland, in 2004, and
looked loved-up at their graduation the following year.
The relationship was obviously
serious but it was still many years before William would propose. The delay
prompted Kate to be given the nickname ‘Waity Katie’ in the press.
In 2007, William and Kate’s
relationship hit a brief road bump when the pair briefly split. However, they
soon rekindled their romance and in October 2010, Prince William proposed
to Kate Middleton.
Kate Middleton exchanged vows
with William in a Westminster Abbey wedding in April 2011 and it wasn’t long
before they started a family together. Their son Prince George was born in July
2013. His sister Princess Charlotte was born in May 2015, followed by Prince
Louis in April 2018.
The Duke and Duchess of
Cambridge now live with their three children between their home in Kensington
Palace and their country home at Sandringham, the Queen’s Norfolk estate.
Prince William and Kate
Middleton have taken on key roles within the Royal Family and joined the Queen,
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall at the Platinum Jubilee.
