Meghan Markle’s half-brother
has called on her and Prince Harry to “stay out of politics” and revealed that
he would move out of the US if his sister ever pursued elected office.
Thomas Markle Jr.,
56, blasted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to speak at the
United Nations General Assembly in honor of Nelson Mandela Day on July 18.
“You’re going to a memorial
for Mandela at the UN building which is an open invitation to anybody in the
general public and then you start talking world peace and politics which has nothing
to do with anything there at that point,” Thomas Jr. told GB
News presenter Dan Wooten.
“The Sussexes need to stick to
rescuing chickens in Montecito and stay out of politics.”
Thomas Jr. also joked he would
“move to the UK” if Meghan ever dabbled in politics.
He also slammed Meghan for her
treatment of their father, Thomas Markle Sr., who suffered a stroke in May
and subsequently lost his speech.
Asked if Meghan reached out to
her father after the medical episode, Thomas Jr. said, “Not at all, nothing at
all. Absolute zero.”

“What’s to be expected at this
point? She didn’t call for the first heart attack or the stroke — why would she
call now?” he said.
“Obviously they’re just doing
other things — other things that they deem necessarily more important than
their father,” he continued. “It’s a mystery — it does bother him continuously,
but he gets through it.”
But Thomas Jr. said in terms
of health, the Markle patriarch is “doing amazing.”
“There’s a lot of work to do
but every single day is just another milestone progression in the right
direction, which is an ultimate recovery on everything. He’s doing fantastic,”
he said.
