LISA HILTON: Kate's Sculpted Arms Are a Status Symbol Today

We have long admired her
fabulously shiny hair, gleaming smile and elegant figure. But recent
appearances in a selection of summer dresses prove that the Duchess of
Cambridge still has a beauty rocket up her sleeve.

Because the Duchess also
flaunts that special thing that millions of women have longed for since
Michelle Obama crossed the White House doorstep: perfectly toned arms.

While she wore a sleeveless
white Emilia Wickstead dress to the polo last week, her tight triceps and
biceps garnered as much admiration as the £1350 dress.

Because while developed arm
muscles were for years the domain of female athletes, seen as too “masculine”
for the likes of you and me, and elegantly sculpted upper arm is now a discreet
sign of youth, confidence and feminine strength – as likely to draw a sigh of
jealousy of a looking woman like a perfect hair dryer.

And unlike some other physical
traits that have to do with the lottery of genetics, a crafty arm is ambitious,
speaking of an investment of time and money into serious workouts.
