1. Overdependence
Don’t ask too much from people or expect much from them and don’t overanalyze your relationship either. Doing this will teach you to stop ascribing the mistakes and ills of your life to people. No one can actually ruin your life without your permission.
Yes! There are some moments when you will need people to step in for you – expect it to happen and also don’t expect it to happen. One of your mistakes that cause you to ruin your chances and platforms is your overreliance on people and body – don’t even rely on your government. Don’t always bank on what is in not in your hands yet – look up to what you offer yourself more than what others can offer you. This is the best way to go about doing your things diligently and smartly.
Your hope in others may not come through and true – knowing this will get you ready to know what to do probably when the unfortunate happens.
2. Procrastination
As you know, procrastinating is a thief of year and season – to everything under the sun there is a season. Your season of sowing will come before your season of harvest. However, if you tarry to sow, your season of harvest will wait and may never come. This reminds me of a saying; “What you have to do, do quick.”
Maybe you don’t need approval from others if you are very convinced with what you want to do. Make attempt, you might not have all that you need at the beginning – but the little you are starting with will definitely attract all that you will need. You will save and redeem your year if you stop procrastinating.
3. Greed
By now, you should tell yourself that “you can’t be everywhere … you can’t do everything … all opportunities you stumble on are not yours.” Giving up greed will teach you how to focus greatly on your goals as you will no longer be distracted.
Greed is a character flaw from you. Now you should also know that not all that glitters is gold. Taking from what I said earlier: don’t take too much from people, don’t expect too much from them. Do away with spirit of entitlement that you may end up doing what you think you can’t do. Stop being a sucker – this is the big reason why few good people walks out of your life or ignore you. Mind you, there are some relationships you can’t afford to lose, and one of the ways to keep and maintain such relationship is not to be a burden to others.
4. Ingratitude
Say “thank you’ more than ever, let others feel appreciated if you don’t want to walk alone. Be grateful for life and for those things that seem little in your life – this is only when those little can become great. Gratitude is an attitude that will keep you safe from envy, comparison and unhealthy competition. It will help you to put your ‘little’ in good use – it teaches you frugality and makes you a better person, professionally and financially.
Why do some people reduced in stature and influence? Ingratitude is one element that enhance their decline in life. Don’t always complain or nag – it has been unrewarding for you so far, so try stopping now.
5. Giving up
Now that the year is over and a new one is fast incoming, there is need for you to give up ‘giving up’ itself. Your character, aspirations, dreams and plans will be tested according to time – things may not pan out as planned. This does not mean make your plan unrealistic or something. You need to stay brave when things don’t work out; your never say die attitude will profit you sooner or later.
Expect bumps that will slow you down on your way, jumping on bumps does not mean you are on a wrong path. It is necessary you jump on bumps that you be equipped with necessary know-hows that will help you navigate your way. Courageous patience will help you to stand tall against the test of times – you will need it in the incoming year more than you ever need it. Don’t give in easily, and don’t get too tired easily.
