‘Africans Fear and Respect Nigerians, But Not Loved’-Nollywood Actor’s Daughter Recounts Painful Ordeal

Nichole, the daughter of
veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo aka RMD, has recounted a
painful ordeal.

According to the Twitter user,
a friend was going to recommend him for a consulting role in Eswatini, but it
didn’t fly because he was a Nigerian. The Twitter user said there are issues people
are quietly keeping in the dark but don’t talk about in the open, noting that
Nigerians are not loved across Africa but are feared.

This comes after someone shared
an experience of being deprived of a job because he was a Nigerian.

This claim of the wrong
perception about Nigerians is unarguably related to the crimes and fraud
perpetrated by young people.

The tweet read: “A friend was
going to recommend me for a consulting role in Eswatini but because I am
Nigerian it didn’t fly. These are issues people quietly keep in the dark but
don’t talk about in the open. Nigerians are not loved across Africa. They’re
feared and maybe respected but not loved”.

Reacting to the tweet, RMD’s
daughter Nichole recounted how she and others were removed from a project after
the kickoff for being a Nigerian.

@Nicho0le wrote: “We were
removed from a project after kickoff in Africa’s “best” country for being
Nigerian”.
