I think Putin’s military generals are lying to him about the invasion
because they’re too scared to tell him the truth.
Why so? Because recently declassified information indicates that Putin
is aware of the situation on information coming to him and there now
is a persistent tension between him and senior Russian military officials.
White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said that The
U.S. believes Putin is being misled not only about his military’s
performance but also “how the Russian economy is being crippled by
sanctions because, again, his senior advisers are too afraid to tell him
the truth.”
The U.S. administration is hopeful that revealing the findings could
help stimulate Putin to reconsider his options in Ukraine.
