One of Nollywood’s leading actors,
Ugeze J. Ugeze has said that the terminally distorted nature of the country is
the reason Nigerians who are trapped in Ukraine due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis
have refused to return to the country.
Earlier the Minister of Foreign
Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, said: “We hope to start evacuation hopefully Wednesday,
although some do not want to come back. We are doing everything possible to
ensure that come Wednesday, we will dispatch planes for evaluation.”
In line with the above
statement from the Foreign Affairs Minister, the Nollywood actor via his
Instagram handle said that it should be a concern for the government that its
citizens are refusing the help rendered to them in crisis. He revealed that no
one would want to come back to a country where the public officers loot with
impunity.
He wrote: “It is now news
some of the Nigerians stranded in Ukraine are not ready to come back. This
should be of serious concern to the government. Who wants to come back to a
country where public officers have been looting with impunity since 1960, a
country where those punished are those who lost bearing in the looting circle?
Nigeria, terminally destroyed.”
