The issue Prince Harry is fighting is over Royal Police
Protection, which is something that simply cannot be purchased. Harry wants to
have his old special security team made up of the highly trained professionals
who currently protect several high profiles Royals-Prince Charles, Prince
William, Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge, and Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla
the Duchess of Cornwall-fulltime.
The problem with Harry’s unreasonable request is RPO’s cannot be
bought. Harry cannot hire the FBI to protect him in the U.S., and yet somehow
he and his wife manage to live here without fearing for their lives. Why is
Harry suing his grandmother to get what cannot be purchased?
Harry’s wife doesn’t like being less popular or treated less
royally than a certain Duchess of Cambridge. It probably galls Meghan that
she cannot have a string of huge vehicles and police cars announcing her
arrival at events. Those cars made Meg look kind of sort of like a royal.
Except Meghan couldn’t remember to shut her own car door. Remember that
fiasco, which Sunshine Sachs managed to spin as if Meghan had brought the
nation to a state of war? All over a car door.
Except it was so much more than that. Meghan needed to leave
that car door open in case the area she was stepping her sloppy designer-clad
body into was not secure. Meghan managed to spin it as she was a feminist and
could shut her own RPO car door and didn’t need a man! to do that for her since Meg was so modern and was changing the monarchy.
We who comprehend such delicate matters such as why the security
personnel must secure cars and perimeters understand how impressive Meghan felt
when she arrived at a photoshoot with one of her charities in a motorcade. We
understand that Harry wants to make Meghan happy, because his mantra, “What
Meghan wants, Meghan gets” is known to all as his personal mission statement.
When Harry falls to keep his missus happy and bedecked in royal
glory it is said he pays a price. One hears so many interesting stories. So
Harry might want the same Royal Police protection that his older brother,
Prince William, and his beautiful sister-in-law, Catherine, enjoy as a perk for
being direct heirs to the Throne. The Cambridges have full-time security, and
Harry’s wife wants that when Harry is in the UK getting film of him being a
quasi-royal.
Except most people believe Meghan has burned so many bridges in
the UK that she simply cannot show her face there and risk being pelted by a
tomato. If Harry cannot grant Meghan the same level of security that Catherine
enjoys, then Meghan can state she feels too threatened to enter and visit the UK
safely.
It is said Harry is dangling Archie and Lilibet in exchange for
paying for only RPOs. Harry will not bring the children over if he cannot have
the same security William has.
Harry can pay for his own security when he travels to Britain,
but Harry cannot pay for the Royal Police protection. Well, his lawsuit is
about him being permitted to pay himself for that specific security.
What I wonder is why does Princess Anne, Princess Royal,
manage to live her very public life of service without RPOs except at royal
engagements? Anne was almost kidnapped once and yet; she doesn’t whine about
not having around-the-clock RPOs. Anne managed to evade her kidnapper herself.
Isn’t Harry a decorated war veteran? Isn’t he able to handle
being in the UK just like all the other royals who manage not to have the kind
of security William does? This sounds like sour grapes, meaning Harry appears
to be jealous that his brother, the king-in-waiting, who actually resides and
works in Britain has motorcades and RPOS, but Harry, who willingly and publicly
chose to “step back” and out of royal life does not.
