What are the Reasons Which Make Some People Say that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has an Eating Disorder?

After researching, it turns out it’s just a
rumour with no proof. This is what she looks like: Yes, she’s thin. Yes, it’s
true that a lot of women generally lose shape after childbirth, while she
hasn’t. I can see that. But why is the media so insistent that she has an
eating disorder?

1) She’s thin. And people seem to think that
the only thin people are models who just eat salads. These days being thin
automatically means you have an “eating disorder”, as if there aren’t
different body types. 2) Society is fixated on judging people, particularly
women, for their bodies. It’s just another example of how we get objectified.
If Kate put on weight, they’d be all over that just like they are over her
being thin. Why does it matter so much? 3) Another part of it is probably
because Princess Diana struggled with bulimia nervosa and people just kind of
make the association now. The media always seems to make every action of the
royal women related to Diana. 4) I think they just run out of things to report
on, so they turn to making up these rumours and conspiracies.

When I look at Kate, I just see a healthy and
fit woman who is taking care of herself. People with eating disorders are
usually a lot sicker than this and extremely low on energy. Even Diana skipped
appearances when she was suffering.

Can society first and foremost stop judging
people by their bodies? Believing that thin = eating disorder is incredibly
toxic in itself, but the root of the problem is that society is always
objectifying women’s bodies, often subconsciously.

The Duchess of Cambridge is beautiful and
seems healthy. Of course, I do hope she never has felt pressured to lose
weight. But we shouldn’t make a guessing game out of health issues.
