Prince Edward is 'Slightly improving' in hospital after being admitted on Monday for tests

Following his hospitalization, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, has spent his 15th night in hospital care. He was transferred to St Bartholomew’s Hospital on Monday for tests related to his heart condition. He was initially admitted at King Edward VII’s Hospital because he was unwell, but the official statement is that the admission was merely a precaution, and he is not infected with COVID 19.

In a visit to a vaccination center in Croydon where she hailed the efforts of NHS staff and church representatives who were supporting the UK vaccination rollout, The Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke’s daughter-in-law, revealed that

“We heard today that he’s slightly improving, so that’s very good news. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.”

Buckingham palace has also released a statement on Monday saying

“The Duke of Edinburgh was today transferred from King Edward VII’s Hospital to St Bartholomew’s Hospital where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection, as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition.

“The Duke remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in hospital until at least the end of the week.”

The only visitor that the Duke has received since his hospitalization is his son Prince Charles of Wales.
