The state of your mind in the early hours of the morning can determine how your entire day will turn out. This is why it is important that your mental, physical and psychological health should be at its peak during the morning hours, it will, directly and indirectly, influence your mood and productivity for the whole day. Your habits or rituals in the mornings also play a part in your general work output and eventually, your life in total. Below are 11 Morning rituals or habits that will change your life for the better, by kick-starting your day on a high note.
Waking Up Early
The secret to getting things done effectively is doing them in the very early hours of the morning. You have enough time, space and no distractions from any angle. The peace and tranquility of the early morning is soothing for the mind and this helps with effective execution of tasks. If you form the habit of waking up earlier in the morning to get stuff done, you will find that it makes your whole work easier, and leaves you feeling great throughout the day.
Pray
Without a higher force there is hardly anything we can get done. Realizing this and putting God first every morning before anything else will give you a sense of fulfillment that you can never get anywhere else. Praying and handing everything over to God will fill you with enough confidence and courage to take anything that comes your way head on.
Write Them Down
When you wake up in the morning, try as much as possible to write down at least two or three very important task you have to complete before the day is over. This has been proven to be very effective and helpful in keeping you in check. Writing them down puts them in your subconscious mind and helps you focus on what needs to be done for the day. This helps you make priorities on what’s important and what’s not.
Meditate
Meditation helps you reflect on how you want your day to go. It opens up your mind and takes away all the negative thoughts and energies that are leftover from the previous day. This is assuming they have not been removed by sleep and rest. Basically, meditation opens up and refreshes your mind in preparation for the new day. It gets you mentally, physically and emotionally ready for the day.
Play Music
Whether you choose to listen to it with your headphones or play it out loud, music is essential for a new day. Just like meditation opens up your mind for the day, music fills them up with the appropriate words and feeling that you need. Whether you choose to play soothing or classic music depending on your preferences, it releases hormones that make you energetic to begin your day. Most importantly is the fact that you play music that will uplift you.
PLan Your Day
Much like writing down the most important two or three things you need to complete before the day is over, this one is similar, but completely different. Here you wrote down everything you need to do for the day. In simple terms, plan your whole day in writing. It can include both important stuff and ones that are not so important. But they should include everything on your plate for the whole day.
Exercise
Physical exercise is just as important as mental exercise. Meditation, planning and other things are part of the mental exercise and stimulation needed for a healthy work output. Besides all that, you still need to sweat it out and get your physical body energized. A 30 minute workout will work wonders for your body and pump energy into them. You will feel refreshed and you will be glad you did.
A Drink A Water
As much as possible try to get a full glass of water into your system once you wake up. This might be difficult to do, but believe it when I say it really helps you for the whole day. For starters, it flushes out the previous day’s wastes still present in your body and opens up your internal organs and system for something new. You can infuse them with flavors or fruits like lemon or orange, or you can just stick to plain water.
