To mark 20 years of Transport for London Prince Charles and his wife, Camilia took an eco-friendly bus ride to London’s Transport Museum in an electric double decker outside their home at Clarence House at a specially installed temporary bus stop.
Joined by Transport for London Commissioner Mike Brown and a group of local schoolchildren from Phoenix Primary School in Bermondsey, who are part of a scheme run by the transport operator promoting safe, active and sustainable travel, the royal couple took a 10 minute trip down Pall Mall and past Trafalgar Square on Wednesday afternoon.
The visit involved a tour of the museum with Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, to meet Transport for London’s apprentices and staff who have pioneered environmental and mental health schemes in the workplace, as well as crisis response staff. They also received a plaque with their HRH titles engraved in them.
