On February 19th Prince Andrew turns 60 and the Royal will be having a quiet normal day.
It has already been stated that the flags will not be raised on that day and he won’t also be getting a royal gun salute.
His mother, the Queen will be carrying out an official engagement at the opening of the new premises of the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals in London.During her visit, Her Majesty will see first-hand the work being carried out across the facilities and will speak to patients who have benefited from the services and care of the staff.
He will possibly spend the day with his daughters and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
Last year, Prince Andrew stepped down from Royal duties following his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and in a statement released by Buckingham Palace, Andrew said:
“It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family’s work and the valuable work going on in the many organisations and charities that I am proud to support. Therefore, I have asked Her Majesty if I may step back from public duties for the foreseeable future, and she has given her permission.I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein. His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathise with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure. I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives. Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required.”
For this reason also, he deferred his military promotion which was supposed to be on his 60th birthday. Reportedly it’ll be considered when he returns back to official duties in the future.
Prince Andrew is also set to walk his daughter, Princess Beatrice down the aisle in May this year.
