Following their resignation from Royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have settled into a normal life with their son, Archie in Canada.
In response to this, the Queen released a statement via Bukingham Palace stating that: the couple, will no longer use their HRH status and will no longer represent the monarch under the agreement reached by all four royal households.
“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
However, on Sunday for her usual church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Snadringham the Queen displays public support for her grandson, Prince Harry and his family.
As part of her ensemble, the Queen more a Canadian Snowflake brooch she got from David Johnston, former Governor-General of Canada in 2017. The jewel features 48 rare Canadian sapphires surrounded by diamonds, and was presented to the Queen to mark her 65th year on the throne.
The Monarch is said to have handled the resignation with care and wisdom as this could have made the year more bumpy than she had experienced last year.
Prince Harry was last seen at the UK-Africa summit in Greenwich and had since flown down to Canada to be with his family. In his speech at a charity dinner for Sentebale Prince Harry said “the UK is my home and a place that I love” despite his relocation but stated that he “continue to be the same man who holds his country dear and dedicates his life to supporting the causes, charities and military communities that are so important to me.”
