In the Royal official diary, The Countess of Wessex, Sophie will be working on in the European country on the 14th February.
Her schedule stays clear for her children’s half-term break until 26 February, when she will attend a reception at St James’s Palace for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, as Global Ambassador- a role for for her as she gave birth to her daughter Louise prematurely via an emergency Caesarean section. The child suffered from exotropia – a condition which turns the eyes outwards but after various operations Louis can now see normally.
Sophie, married Prince Edward in June 1999 at St George’s chapel with no ceremonial traditions or military involvements. The pair met at a tennis match in 1993 and have gone on to their 20th wedding anniversary with two children; James, Viscount Severn, 12, and Lady Louise Windsor, 16.
Ahead of his big day, Prince Edward remarked: “We manage to have a good laugh about things most of the time, and we happen to love each other, which is the most important thing of all.” Their wedding day was watched by 200 million viewers across the world, making it one of the most-viewed TV events in history.
