The president of BAFTA, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge attended the Award night on Sunday with his wife, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge.
After a long week of official engagements with recent ones like the UK Holocaust Memorial Day service in Westminster on Monday which both the Duke and Duchess attended. Kate, on the other hand, went busy with her charity for children as she visited a creative arts workshop at Evelina London children’s hospital, a surprise stop at Stockwell Gardens Nursery & Pre-School, part of the London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) to help serve the children a meal. The royals stepped out together for the BAFTA Award night.
As they walked the red carpet The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were celebrated by Royal fans who commented on Kate’s outfit.
The Duchess who looked elegant in a white and gold embroidered Alexander McQueen gown and Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery got a compliment from a fan who said; “You look beautiful,” while another quickly added “So do you Will!” referring to Prince William.
This year’s award themed ‘sustainability’ saw attendees dressed in recycled outfits or ecosystem friendly attires. Kate wore a recycled dress which she first donned to a state dinner in Malaysia on a tour in 2012. Prince William looked good in a tuxedo.
Prince William made presentations of awards to film producer Kathleen Kennedy, who has produced Star Wars movies, including The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and Rogue One, as well as Jurassic Park, ET The Extra-Terrestrial and the Back to the Future trilogy. He also delivered a speech stating that the organization needs ‘diversity’
