The heir apparent Princess Amalia of the Netherlands appears in a whole new look in recent photos.
The royal family took their annual skiing holiday photocall on Tuesday and everyone but Princess Amalia had a different subtle look.
Amalia for the first time had her ears pierced, wearing gold hoops as she posed for photos with her younger sisters, Princess Alexia,Princess Ariane and their parents in Lech, Austria.
On her 16th birthday a portrait photograph of the heir apparent was shared on the family’s instagram account on 7 December.
King Willem-Alexander who succeeded his mother as Monarch shares during an interview in 2013, his parenting technique for Amalia, in the knowledge that she will one day reign.
He said while speaking to Wilfried de Kong, a Dutch author; “You must first get to know yourself through and through. That’s what I am constantly emphasizing with Amalia,I keep saying: know your own limits. Go everywhere. Make mistakes, as far as possible out of the eyes of the public. I did that, a lot. Festivals, parties everything and more – find your boundaries. It is a good thing to do, without doing it in the public domain.”
“It’s about the safety of my children, not about us knowing what they’re doing or whether things are good or bad. Otherwise you can never develop yourself. If they want to share things about Amalia, I would rather not know.” He said while speaking about his children’s safety and bodyguards.
