The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton had a day full of activities at aSportAid event held at the London Stadium on Wednesday.
The mother of three dressed smart for the occasion as she tried out different sport activities like sprinting, Taekwondo moves by Great Britain’s Lutalo Muhammad and great conversations centered on praises for parents of the young athletes whose efforts said were:..…above and beyond the call of duty; you’ve committed your time and devotion to nurturing your children’s exceptional talents.
And as a parent, I have a huge admiration for you and I know just how complex and time-consuming your role is. You may not always feel appreciated, or sometimes even noticed on the sidelines, in the car park or sitting high in the stands. But I am so proud that SportsAid recognises how key your role is and that they understand the challenges and worries you face.”
However that was not the only engagement the Duchess had to attend. Kate held an Early Years meeting in the afternoon at Kensington Palace after her sporty appearance.
To further channel her passion for her charity, Kate launched her early childhood survey ‘5 Big Questions on the Under Fives’ in January, which aims to spark a nation-wide conversation on raising the next generation and took a mini tour of the UK to promote the survey, visiting Birmingham, Cardiff, Woking, London, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
She only took a break for her children’s February half-term at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall and later resumed official duties by attending a special performance of Dear Evan Hansen at the Noel Coward theatre in London’s West End on Tuesday, which was held in aid of The Royal Foundation with her husband, Prince William.
On the other hand, William has also been getting work done as he visited the Beacon Project in Mansfield while Kate was at the SportsAid event in London on Wednesday.
The couple is expected to be in Ireland from Tuesday 3 to Thursday 5 March for a three-day tour of the country with a schedule that “will take in Ireland’s rich culture, its impactful community and spectacular scenery.”
The statement from Kensington Palace adds: “Following Her Majesty the Queen’s historic visit in 2011, the visit will also focus on the relationship between the two countries and build on the theme of remembrance and reconciliation.”
