On Sunday morning, The Queen was spotted in Sandringham, as she attended Church service at St. Mary the Virgin, Hilington in the company of Prince Andrew, who stepped down from royal duties following his alleged relationship with Jeff Epstein.
Dressed in a black and white houndstooth dress and coat, paired with a black shoes, black handbag and hat, the Monarch made an effort to shake hands with members of the public, looked cheerful and witty.
Prior to this, the Queen released a statement on Saturday evening regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s future roles and stand as royals.
The statement reads:
“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life. Following the decision, Harry and Meghan will remain Duke and Duchess of Sussex and will be individually styled as Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. The couple will continue to support their private patronages but Harry will lose his military patronages and will no longer serve as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, representing the Queen. He will step down as Captain-General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Commandant at RAF Honington and Commodore-in-Chief, Small Ships and Diving. He and Meghan will, however, retain their roles as President and Vice President of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. There will, however, be a “period of transition” before all this comes into effect.
Royal fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the relationship wetween Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. One said: “Prince Harry giving up being a Prince for his woman is the most romantic thing I’ve seen happen outside of fiction,” another typed: “Harry is literally giving up everything to be with his wife. Hopefully, it’s worth it and they will live happily ever after.” Another added:
“If Harry is leaving Britain, then he is doing it for love and he will be giving up certain things but he seems very happy.” A fourth person commented: “But come to think of it, this lady gave up a whole lot for her marriage to be part of the royal family. if Harry is so giving up something for Meghan’s happiness, so be it.” “The power of love. I mean Harry is doing what has never been done before. Giving up his title, the palace, everything he has ever known for Meghan and Archie. It’s groundbreaking,” another tweeted
The Duchess was last seen driving herself to the Canadian airport on Friday and has been in Canada with their son, Archie, while Prince Harry has been in the UK to attend, first, the summit hosted by the Queen to discuss the future of the Sussex’s and other official responsibilities. On Friday, Harry was sat out at the Brook House Pub in Fulham owned by Mike Dyer a former aide to Prince Charles with his friends for a few drinks and meals.
