During his speech as host of the reception for the UK-Africa Investment Summit on Monday evening, the Duke of Cambridge spilled the rather conserved story of how he proposed to his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge in 2010.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were the hosts of the event on behalf of the Queen and in attendance was, the Earl of Wessex and the Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne was also in attendance from the Royal family.
The Duke in his speech said: “It is the place my father took my brother and me shortly after our mother died. And when deciding where best to propose to Catherine, I could think of no more fitting place than Kenya to get down on one knee.”
Whereas in 2010, the couple were secret about the details of their relationship on their very first interview after the announcement of their engagement with Tom Brady that year.
However, we got the clue for the location as it was revealed that the couple had signed a guestbook at Rutundu Cabin at the foot of Mount Kenya around that time.

“We had been talking about marriage for a while so it wasn’t a massively big surprise. I took her up somewhere nice in Kenya and I proposed.”Prince William said and Kate added: “It was very romantic. There’s a true romantic in there.”
“And as Catherine and I have said to several of you here tonight, we hope to have the chance to visit many more countries in the future and share our mutual love of your continent with our children.” Prince William continues.
