The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have now settled in Canada to begin their private life away from the pomp and spotlight of royalty as they work to becoming financially independent.
In an attempt to trademark their Sussex Royal name with the aim of selling merchandise ranging from personal to household items, the couple now face an opposition till March 20 as they were dragged to court by Mr Worcester, who is believed to have worked as an NHS doctor from 2011 until 2013, filed an opposition.
However, for their plan to become financially independent, spend time between UK and Canada while still supporting the Queen, Harry and Meghan have support from close friends and here’s a list of them.
1. Keleigh Thomas Morgan is a partner at US PR firm Sunshine Sachs, which represented Meghan when she starred in Suits. The PR expert is still working with the couple to build Sussex Royal, The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
2. Serena Williams have been friends with Meghan since 2010 after they met at an American football
Super Bowl party. Serena says: “Her
personality just shines,” “I told
her: ‘You’ve got to be who you are, Meghan. You can’t hide.'”
3. Heather Dorak, the founder of Platinum Fitness Studio have been friends with the Duchess for over 15 years. She recently visited Canada and Meghan was seen driving to Vancouver Island to pick up the Los Angeles-based Pilates instructor.
4. Oprah Winfrey expressed her support for the Royals recently. While speaking, the TV Mogul said; “When a person has thought: ‘What is the best decision to make for my family?’ and then he makes that decision, none of us have any right to say anything about that… Who doesn’t feel what that takes to make that decision; to give up everything you’ve known your whole life; to say: ‘I’m going to choose this new life or what I believe to be the truest vision for myself’?” she continued. “Who are any of us to stand in judgment of that?”. She is reportedly working with Harry for a six-part documentary
series on mental health for Apple TV+.
5. Jessica Mulroney was reportedly on nanny duties while Meghan was in the UK after their announcement to resign from royal duties. Jessica has been close to Meghan since her Suits days, and is a key figure in Toronto society. She is married to Ben Mulroney, the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian.
6. Gayle King a US
TV presenter in her support for Meghan said:; “Everybody wants that interview, of course, but I’ve not asked
for it,” she said. I think they
made a decision that they think is best for them and I know that I’m pulling
for them 100%. At the end of the day,
these are two people who are in love who just want to be a family together. And
it’s no diss on the Queen, it’s no diss on the UK, none of that.”
“I can bet probably my first and second-born child, who I love very
dearly, you will not see them on the Grammys red carpet.” she added.
7. Misha Nonoo a US-based fashion designer Misha whom Meghan often wears and collaborated with on Meghan’s SmartWorks clothing collection. She is married to Harry’s
friend Alexander Gilkes, the co-founder of online auction house Paddle8.
8. Markus
Anderson, the Soho House director has won the Duchess’s heart as she referred to him as “uncle” to her dogs and in a message on Instagram once said: “What would I do without you, my loving, supportive, and endlessly fun friend?? I know what… I would be bored, and life would be infinitely less interesting.”
9. Nick Collins the co-head of
talent at The Gersh Agency, one of Hollywood’s largest talent agencies has bee close pals with Meghan since from her days in Suits. He is believed to be handling TV
and film offers together with charity opportunities for the Duke and Duchess.
