On Wednesday, the Duke and Duches of Sussex made an announcement that will be resigning as senior members of the Royal family. A decision to support the Queen and work on their financial independence, stirred quiet a number of questions, comments and reactions.
However, Senior courtiers began discussions with the intentions of helping the Sussex with their goal.
To this effect, aides have been assigned by HRH the Queen, Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge to find “a workable solution” that will allow them to change their royal roles.
“They want to try to do something different and the family is resolved to help them see if it can be done,” said an insider. “There is a lot to do, but people are calm and focused on making this work. People are a bit surprised and a bit hurt by it all but they are family. They want to help the couple try to find an answer to his question. It’s not straightforward. They need to hear more about what kind of work they are planning to do but it’s not a case of saying ‘this isn’t possible’. That’s now what has to be worked through.”
The financial implications of these decisions are unknown yet but they’ll be lots of discussion between the government, oversea authorities and Courtiers.

We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.”
