The Duke of Cambridge is father to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis
Unless you are a dad, you may not really understand what it means to have three kids calling you
“daddy.” Only mothers can relate. On Thursday, Prince Williams made an honest remark
about being a dad to three at a gala dinner of the 30th anniversary of London’s
Air Ambulance Charity.
The Duke of Cambridge was conversing
with musician Eric Clapton when he remarked, “With the children, it’s quite hard
to get the time off. Any free time I do get I sleep.”
William used to be an air ambulance pilot
Earlier in January, William was
made the Patron of the 30th Anniversary Campaign, having been a former pilot with
the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The Duke greeted paramedics, doctors, and pilots
who also attended the black-tie dinner in their orange uniforms.
William said during his speech, “When
I became Patron for the anniversary in January, one of the targets was to raise
at least £1 million to redevelop the crew’s helipad base. I’m very proud that,
nine months later, this target has now been met. Once complete, these new
facilities at the helipad will allow medics to respond even faster to
emergencies and ensure crews have the mental health and wellbeing support that
they need.”
As the Duke wrapped up his
speech, he said, “I wish you all the very best as you build on this year’s
successes and continue providing crucial lifesaving support to Londoners for
many years to come.”
