Prince Andrew To Address Jeffrey Epstein Scandal Claims In ‘no Holds Barred’ TV Interview

On Saturday evening, Prince Andrew will speak in detail about his relationship with his former friend Jeffrey Epstein for the first time since the latter was convicted on sex abuse charges. Excerpts of the revelations were released after BBC’s journalist Emily Maitlis interviewed the Duke at Buckingham Palace on Thursday. The full interview would be broadcast in a BBC show “Prince Andrew & the Epstein Scandal” late on Saturday evening. 

Jeffrey committed suicide in prison after in August after being convicted.  The American financier had pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him, and was still awaiting trial when he died. 

In the released excerpts of the anticipated interview, Emily asked the Duke of York about his 2001 sexual involvement with an accuser of Jeffrey who also accused him.

The Prince said, 
“I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady.” Before now, the Duke had released a statement which read: “The Duke of York has been appalled by the recent reports of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged crimes. His Royal Highness deplores the exploitation of any human being and the suggestion he would condone, participate in or encourage any such behaviour is abhorrent.”

It remains to be heard what more Prince Andrew has to say about his relationship with Jeffrey. The show will be aired at 9 PM on BBC 2.
