Many Trapped As Three-Storey Building Collapses In Ebute Metta, Lagos State

A three-storey building
collapsed on Ibadan Street in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos State on Sunday
2nd May 2022.

This was disclosed by the
Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service on Sunday around 11 pm on the microblogging
platform Twitter.

In a statement on Sunday
night, the Head of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Margaret Adeseye,
also confirmed the news.

Margaret Adeseye stated
several residents of the collapsed building were trapped, and a search and
rescue operation was underway to rescue the trapped victims.

She said: “An alert of a
collapsed three-storey building on 32 Ibadan Street, Ebute Meta, was received
around 9.48pm on Sunday, with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service already
at the scene.”

A search and rescue operation
is ongoing to rescue some of the trapped victims. It is a residential building
that collapsed. More updates will be communicated.
