Don’t you just love the Queen’s outfit to the Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday night hosted by the monarch herself.
She wore a white embroidered state gown by Angela Kelly with the Vladimir tiara, emerald and diamond drops.
The highlight of her ensemble was the necklace. The striking jewel features a row of square emeralds surrounded by diamond clusters, with emerald drops attached. While the necklace isn’t new, according to royal experts, it’s believed to be the first time the Queen has worn it in public.
It’s uncertain whether that is an updated version of the Greville Emerald necklace that was often worn by the Queen mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon who received a vast collection of jewelry from Margaret Greville-a British society hostess, who was close friends with the royals.
