We’ve got a Royal wedding to look out for sometime in May. The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice will say I do to her fiancé Edoardo Mappelli. The princess has never worn a tiara before and it would be such a delight to see Beatrice wear a piece.

However, her mother Sarah Ferguson has had memorable events where she pulled out of the treasury chest the beautiful jeweled piece of tiara to different events especially royal tours as was the custom.

On her wedding day to Prince Andrew in 1986, the bride was given the York tiara-a floral shaped diamond scrolls designed by Garrad and believed to be a present from her in-laws, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Sarah Ferguson, has worn the tiara on numerous occasions after her wedding, including royal tours/visits to Toronto,Canada in 1987 and 1989 where she wore an embroidered strapless dress with arm gloves and her diamond wedding jewellery, during her and Prince Andrew’s tour of Australia in 1988 and banquets in Edmonton, 1987 where she wore a pink ball gown designed by Zandra Rhodes with matching heels and white gloves, and in London, 1987 where she attended a banquet at Claridges alongside other members of the royal family, including Prince Charles and Princess Diana and for the last time in Windsor, 2001 Sarah wore it with a black dress to Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara ball.

It’s uncertain which tiara Princess Beatrice will wear on her special day but it could just be her mum’s since it’s been almost two decades since it was worn.
