Sweden-based Charity, Min Stora Dag which means in english-My Special Day with Crown Princess Victoria makes today a special day for a seven-year old Emilia.
The organization makes a difference for children and adolescents with critical illnesses and diagnoses and every year, nearly 5,000 children experience a Special Day that gives extra strength and happiness in a tough everyday life entirely dependent on generous donations from individuals, companies, organisations, foundations and no government funding.
Min Stora Dag reached out to Crown Princess Victoria in the hope of fulfilling Emilia’s wish to visit the princess in the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Princess Victoria spent a fun-filled hour with Emilia at Princess Sibylla’s floor in the palace for tea and biscuits, who has a type of brain tumour called ependymoma with her family travelling over 400 miles.
According to the Min Stora Dag’s Instagram page, Emilia and the Crown Princess “had a relaxed conversation about everything between heaven and earth” and also spoke about “life – and that it goes up and down”. Before their time was up, the princess surprised horse-loving Emilia with a ride through Stockholm in a horse-drawn carriage from the King’s court stall.
The charity shared photos of their visit on Instagram account @kungahuset, with a caption in Swedish: “Yesterday, the Royal Palace received a special visitor: 7-year-old Emilia from Trelleborg had travelled to Stockholm to meet, together with her parents and sister Maja, the Crown Princess.” Emilia and her sister certainly looked the part for their royal visit, wearing the same style dress in purple and teal with similar silver Mary-Jane-style ballet flats.
