By May 29th when Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi marries Princess Beatrice their future children will be in line to succeed the throne but more so, Princess Beatrice will inherit a HRH title from the Italian royal sides.
Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi,the groom’s Father descends from Italian aristocracy, and previously told Mail Online: “Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation. He is a count – his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.” Meaning that the Duke of York’s eldest daughter will become an Italian ‘Contessa’ or ‘Nobile Donna’ (noble woman).
Former Olympic Alpine skier, who represented Great Britain at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Japan, Alessandro Mappelli Mozzi was married to Nikki Burrows for five years and they had two children together, Natalia, now 38, and Edoardo, 36.
Beatrice’s mother, Sarah, Duchess of York men Alessandro in the Swiss ski resort Verbier in 1972 leading to close friendship between both families and after Edoardo’s split with the mother of his son, Dara Huang, a successful architect the duo announced their engagement in September 2019.
It was revealed that the couple had asked Edoardo’s three-year-old son, Christopher also known as Wolfie, to be their best-man as they tie the knot at the Chapel Royal in St James’s Palace in May, with a reception to take place at Buckingham Palace. The wedding is set to be a much more intimate and private affair than recent royal nuptials, as the chapel seats only around 150 people.
