A 32-year-old labourer, Kevin Roberts, has been sentenced to one month in prison for assaulting his wife in Guyana.
Roberts, a resident of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, was charged with assaulting his wife, Annalisa Francis, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at their home in Queenstown.
In a statement on Sunday, March 16, the Guyana Police Force confirmed that the charge was filed under Section 21 of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02.
The case was heard on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke. Roberts pleaded guilty to the charge and received a one-month prison sentence.
