A concert by American rapper Boosie Badazz in Akron, Ohio, turned violent after gunfire erupted, leaving two attendees in critical condition.
The shooting occurred at the FieldHouse Lounge on Monday when a fight broke out, and an unidentified male suspect fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene, according to WKYC.
Two victims, aged 18 and 36, suffered gunshot wounds and were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, Cleveland 19 News reported. A third victim, a 25-year-old man, arrived at a nearby emergency room with a graze wound.
The incident took place around 2:00 a.m. local time, with two off-duty officers—who were providing security at the venue—placing the initial call for assistance.
Footage shared on X captured the moment Boosie Badazz was performing on stage before gunshots rang out. The rapper was seen taking cover as the crowd reacted to the chaos.
Akron PD Deputy Chief Michael Miller told TMZ Hip Hop that at least one shot was fired while Boosie was still on stage. Authorities believe the gunman may have entered the lounge through a secondary entrance or a blind spot, bypassing security measures, including scanners at the main entrance.
The suspect, described as a male, fled the venue on foot, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
This incident comes just seven months after a previous shooting at another of Boosie’s performances, where two people lost their lives.
