A 65-year-old Brazilian woman has been arrested after allegedly confessing to mutilating a man by removing his heart and genitals before cooking and consuming them.
According to Mail Online, the victim, 60-year-old Celso Marques Ferreira, was found dead in a town square in the beach resort of Peruíbe, São Paulo. His body had been mutilated, with his penis and part of his heart missing.
Authorities discovered a blood-stained note next to Ferreira’s body, along with a knife covered in dried blood.
The woman, identified as Josefa, reportedly admitted to the gruesome act after being taken into custody alongside her partner. She claimed she killed Ferreira upon learning that he was a child abuser. She further stated that she had cooked and eaten parts of his body.
A second suspect, 41-year-old Robson Aparecido de Oliveira, was also arrested. Witnesses linked him to the crime, alleging that he had threatened Ferreira shortly before his death. However, Oliveira has denied any involvement.
Investigators believe Josefa could not have acted alone and are searching for a third suspect who may have played a role in the crime.
All three individuals—both suspects and the victim—were homeless and were known to frequently sleep in the same square where Ferreira’s body was discovered.
