According to Mail Online, the actress was discovered at her $2 million home in Hollywood Hills with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday night. Authorities have stated that no suicide note was found at the scene, which is located near Universal Studios.
Pamela was married to Hasselhoff, 72, from 1989 until their divorce in 2006, which she filed for, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple had two daughters, 32-year-old Hayley and 34-year-old Taylor, and she is also survived by a granddaughter named London.
Hasselhoff informed TMZ, “Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging period.”
Following her death, Hayley shared a photo of her mother on her Instagram account. Concern arose when family members had not heard from Pamela for several days, prompting officials to investigate. Paramedics were called to her residence around 10 p.m. Wednesday after reports of an unconscious woman.
Just hours before her passing, Bach-Hasselhoff had left a comment on Hayley’s Instagram post.
Her film career began with a role in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Rumble Fish” in 1983, and she later appeared in “Baywatch” in 1989 as cafe owner Kaye Morgan. Other notable television roles included appearances on “The Young and the Restless,” “The Fall Guy,” and “Sirens.”
Pamela was actively engaged on Instagram, sharing moments with her family until December. Her last post, dated December 31, expressed gratitude and joy for her granddaughter, London’s presence in her life, and conveyed wishes for health and happiness in the new year.
