Bauchi State: Police Arrest Husband For Beating Wife To Death Over Ramadan Meal Preparation

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old businessman, Nuru Isa, for allegedly beating his wife, Wasila Abdullahi, to death following a dispute over food ingredients and fruits prepared for breaking the Ramadan fast.

The incident, which occurred over the weekend at their home in Fadaman Mada, Bauchi metropolis, reportedly escalated from a disagreement into a violent confrontation.

Confirming the arrest, Bauchi State Police spokesperson CSP Ahmed Wakil stated that preliminary investigations revealed Isa allegedly struck his wife with a cane, causing her to collapse. 

She was later pronounced dead by a medical doctor at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.

Wakil further disclosed that the deceased has been placed in the mortuary pending an autopsy. A thorough investigation is underway, and the cane used in the attack has been recovered as evidence.
