King Charles III is continuing to strengthen the team at Buckingham Palace as preparations for his eventual relocation progress.

Several new job vacancies have quietly appeared on the royal household’s website in the past week, particularly within the palace kitchens. Open positions include a junior pastry sous chef, a chef de partie, and a sous chef, signaling ongoing efforts to bolster the culinary staff.

In addition to kitchen roles, the palace is also recruiting for various administrative and organizational positions, suggesting significant advancements in the long-term renovation project.

Buckingham Palace Renovation Update

The extensive refurbishment of Buckingham Palace, which began before Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, is a £369 million, decade-long effort to modernize the building’s infrastructure.

According to last year’s Sovereign Grant report, King Charles and Queen Camilla will not move in until the work on their private apartments in the North Wing is complete. This phase of the renovation is not expected to be finished until the project’s conclusion, meaning the royal couple will continue residing at Clarence House for the time being.

A statement from the royal family’s website explains: “The building’s infrastructure is in urgent need of a complete overhaul to prevent long-term damage to the building and its contents. The most cost-effective way to replace these essential services and ensure the palace is fit for purpose for the next 50 years is to undertake a phased program of works over ten years.”

King Charles’ Country Retreat

Beyond his London residences, King Charles enjoys spending weekends at his beloved country retreat, Highgrove House. Purchased in 1980, the estate holds special significance for the monarch.

The royal family’s website highlights his dedication to the estate, stating: “He has devoted much energy to transforming the gardens around the house, which are renowned as some of the most inspiring and innovative in the United Kingdom.”
