U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has reacted after President Donald Trump declined to explicitly endorse him as his potential successor.

During an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, Trump stated that he was not yet ready to back Vance for a 2028 presidential run but acknowledged his abilities, saying, “No, but he’s very capable.”

When asked about Trump’s remarks in an interview with the Daily Mail, Vance laughed off the response, stating: “I think he said exactly what he should have said, which is: ‘It’s too early.’”

Vance emphasized that his current priority is serving the American people rather than focusing on political ambitions.

“There will be a time to focus on politics, of course—like the midterms [in November 2026]. So, let’s do a good job first and then worry about the midterms. And then we’ll think about presidential politics at the appropriate time,” he added.
