Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has shared rare insights into his family life with Princess Beatrice, offering a glimpse into their home and his design philosophy.
As the founder of the luxury property firm Banda, Edoardo, 41, is known for his transparent approach to business. Speaking to AD Middle East, he explained, “A lot of people probably tell their clients what they want to hear, but from day one, we’re very, very honest.”
His appreciation for design is reflected in his admiration for “the beauty of imperfection,” which he describes as “quiet luxury.” He believes that subtle flaws in craftsmanship “tell a story” and “reflect a part of its journey.”
Since launching Banda in 2007 at just 23, Edoardo has overseen the creation of around 300 high-end homes in London, some selling for over £38 million. He considers his work “a real privilege.”
In 2021, Edoardo and Beatrice, 36, relocated to a 19th-century farmhouse in the Cotswolds. Reflecting on their historic home, he shared, “I love [old] things that have been restored; human-made rather than machine-made – they’ve got soul, they’ve got energy. That’s got far more value.”
The couple chose to raise their family away from London, settling into their £3.5 million countryside retreat, which boasts six bedrooms, a private swimming pool, and tennis courts.
They welcomed their first daughter, Sienna Elizabeth, in September 2021, and their second, Athena, in January. Edoardo is also father to a son, Christopher Woolf, known as “Wolfie,” from a previous relationship.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the arrival of their newest addition via an official statement:
