Queen Camilla has introduced an adorable new addition to the royal family—a rescue puppy named Moley!

During a solo visit to Canterbury on Tuesday, the 77-year-old royal shared the news while meeting a partially sighted museum group at the Beaney House of Art & Knowledge. As she bent down to stroke a golden retriever guide dog, she revealed that she had recently welcomed an eight-week-old rescue pup who “looks just like a mole.”

It is believed that Moley, a female puppy born on Boxing Day, comes from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. When asked about the breed, Camilla laughed and replied: “You may well ask. A bit of everything. It’s a rescue dog.” Moley’s mother is said to be half Jack Russell, while her father’s breed remains unknown.

The heartwarming adoption comes just months after Camilla and King Charles faced the sad loss of their beloved dog, Beth.

In November, the palace announced Beth’s passing in a touching social media tribute, describing her as a cherished companion who brought joy, whether “on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire.” The post included heartfelt photos of Beth, including one of her nuzzling the King and another featuring the late Paul O’Grady.

Beth reportedly had an untreatable tumor and had to be put down.

Alongside her new pup, Camilla still has her other Jack Russell Terrier, Bluebell, also adopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Both dogs have accompanied the Queen on royal engagements and even featured in a special portrait with Charles to mark their 15th wedding anniversary.
